My Compliments to the writers of AS16. The adjustments to the visibility/haze engine makes this amazing. Thank you.
Thank you for AS16+ASCA, dear HIFI-team. I am using your products for more than ten years and for me, AS16+ASCA is the best Combo, you’ve ever released.
A very long standing ovation to the HiFi team for such a great product. Thank you all very much!
You have all once again raised the bar on weather generation within P3D and I for one am grateful to have this new engine! It’s an absolutely fantastic addition to our great hobby and I thank you!
I had my first flight in the PMDG 777-300 with AS16 and ASCA out of KJFK. On that first flight there were clouds and precipitation and there it all was on the WX radar, all in the right places. That was just awe-inspiring. Just a sensational product.
The dynamic forming of cloud structures cannot be described in words, it has literally transformed the skies for me! The effect of the clouds wisping over my propeller, oh man! It’s like I could stick my head out the window.
HiFi exceeds their quality in customer support. From an extensive user forum to the easy to use support ticket system help is never far away. In addition, support through HiFi’s team is fast.
Using AS16 in the cruise in a CB-laden area for the the first time ever as far as I know. We can all now experience the forward planning and real-time decision making that takes place in the cruise on airline flights when there are thunderstorms around. You have opened up a whole new aspect to flight simming – many thanks!
I just wanted to extend a shout out to you all for your hard work. I have been a true HiFi Active Sky customer since the 6.5 days. Currently I am in my first flight in live real time mode running AS16 for P3D on a remote laptop. And my first impressions are WOW!!! Your products just keep getting better and better. Money very well spent.

Nov 19, 2017 X The R4.CSV file is MISSING! FSX works and the 777 works but RAAS is now quiet. I made no changes to FSX so I am not sure why I am missing something all of the sudden. I did a forum search for this and found nothing. Aug 07, 2008 I'm missing a file for my R4DS named _ds_menu.sys. I need the english version. You have to establish an Internet connection before starting FS to get real weather updates.
Any Internet connection will do, but I connect to the NOAA national weather service where I can check area weather first , then minimize to the taskbar. [/b]

We all got internet connection, because you can't really even use the RWW without it.

If you have an Internet connection, you can download real-time worldwide weather conditions from Flight Simulator partner Jeppesen . You can choose to download real-world weather as a single snapshot of current weather conditions, or periodically (every 15 minutes) as you fly.
Note: To create dynamic weather changes over time or to download winds aloft with Real-world weather, see Weather Settings.
Downloading a Snapshot of Real-World Weather
When you download real-world weather, it's like taking a snapshot of the current weather conditions for the entire world. If there is a thunderstorm over Paris but it's clear in London, that's what you will see as you fly across the English Channel. You'll also see the actual current weather conditions at all points in between, and see the skies clearing before you as you fly.
To download a snapshot of Real-world weather
Connect to the Internet.
From the main Flight Simulator screen, click Free Flight.
In the Current Weather box, click Change.
Select the Download Real-world weather (static) option.
Click OK.
From the main Flight Simulator screen, click Free Flight.
In the Current Weather box, click Change.
Select the Download Real-world weather (static) option.
Click OK.
When you click OK, a bar displays your progress as Flight Simulator downloads weather conditions from the Jeppesen server.
When the download is complete, a weather map shows the conditions that were downloaded. You can zoom in and out in this map to see the weather in broader or narrower areas.
To load downloaded weather into the simulator
Click OK.
Downloading Real-World Weather Periodically
Flight Simulator includes an option to update real-world weather every 15 minutes automatically. By selecting this option and staying connected to the Internet, you'll get changing weather conditions as they change in the real world. With this option, Flight Simulator initially downloads a snapshot of the weather for the entire world, and then downloads weather for an area of 50 kilometers around your current location every 15 minutes. As you fly, the weather updates every 15 minutes according to the reported weather at stations nearest your current position. (The weather will download more frequently if you fly 80 percent of the distance across the initial download area.)
To download Real-world weather every 15 minutes
